As you can see in the picture, some changes we can experience with aging might be thinning or graying of our hair, we might see our skin start to wrinkle, and our bodies might not be in the same shape they once were.1



We might also notice that we cannot see or hear as well as we used to. These things can change the way we interact with other people which may make interactions with others frustrating.1 In adulthood and older adulthood we can try out some assistive devices, such as glasses or hearing aids, that may help adapt these problems caused by aging. Other changes occur inside of us that we may not even notice happening. Our bones, heart, and other body systems don't work as efficiently as we get older.1 So we may move or walk slower when we get older. We may also get tired more easily when we exercise. And, finally, our sleep patterns may change and the amount of time we sleep each night may be shorter than when we were younger.1 For some people, this could mean more napping throughout the day. These changes are going to happen to all of us very slowly. So if you find one gray hair, don't worry--your hair will not all turn gray the next day! To help us slow the physical process of aging, we need to take good care of ourselves now!
