Competence and Confidence: Partners in Policymaking (C2P2) - Emergency Preparedness


three women at table in planning sessionC2P2 - Emergency Preparedness brings together people with disabilities and their families with emergency planners in a unique, three-day training event.

People with disabilities are often not fully considered during emergency preparedness planning. In bringing together people with disabilities and their families with emergency planners, C2P2 Emergency Preparedness hopes to inform and encourage citizens to lead the effort in considering ALL people when creating emergency plans.

YOU CAN HELP make a difference.

People with disabilities and their family members will meet on September 5 and 6, 2014. On September 17, the group will be joined by emergency planners, with the goal of enhancing the direct involvement of Pennsylvanians with disabilities in emergency management at all levels and to effectively plan for the whole community.

Dates:

September 5 and 6 - sessions for people with disabilities/family members ONLY.
9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

September 17, 2014 - session for both people with disabilities/family members AND emergency planners.
1:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

For People with Disabilities and Their Families Who Live or Work in Southeastern Pennsylvania and Are:


-An adult (18 or older) with a disability
-A family member of a person with a disability
-Interested in being a leader in your community.


For Emergency Planners Who Live or Work in Southeastern Pennsylvania and Are:


-An emergency management professional
-Have an existing advisory committee or planning group in you organization.
