Augmentative Communication and Empowerment Supports (ACES)
ACES 2011: July 23 - 31
What is ACES?
Augmentative Communication and Empowerment Supports, or "ACES," is a program developed in 1990 at the Institute on Disabilities at Temple University by Diane N. Bryen, PhD to provide adult users of communication technology (speech generating devices or "SGD") with the skills to communicate effectively and to use their voices for self-advocacy. ACES staff includes licensed speech-language pathologists and other qualified and experienced personnel - including mentors who are SGD users themselves.
