ABOUT THE INSTITUTE ON DISABILITIES
The Institute on Disabilities at Temple University, Pennsylvania's University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities provides interdisciplinary training, technical assistance, research, and scholarship to enhance the lives of people with developmental and other lifelong disabilities in their communities. The Institute on Disabilities is actively recruiting for the following position:
Department Project Assistant
*** THIS IS A PART-TIME (14 HOURS/WEEK) GRANT-FUNDED POSITION ***
The Department Project Assistant, under close supervision, provides routine administrative support for the Person-Driven Services and Faith-based Respite Projects. The Assistant schedules and provides logistical support for project events and meetings, manages contacts, assists with correspondence, and communicates with collaborators, demonstration participants and the general public via social media. Entering project related data is also an important part of the role. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
At least six months directly related experience. Bachelor's Degree in human services preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills and experience.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively with people with disabilities and families.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of constituents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, and strong Excel data entry skills.
- Skilled at communicating via social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter.
