The Institute on Disabilities at Temple University, Pennsylvania's University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities provides interdisciplinary training, technical assistance, research, and scholarship to enhance the lives of people with developmental and other lifelong disabilities in their communities. The Institute on Disabilities is actively recruiting for the following position:


Community Services Project Associate / Sr. Department Administrative Specialist


The Institute is currently seeking a Community Services Project Associate / Sr. Department Administrative Specialist.

*** THIS IS A PART-TIME, GRANT-FUNDED POSITION 30 HOURS PER WEEK ***

Under the direction of the Director of Supports and Services, the Senior Department Administrative Specialist provides project coordination and administrative support to programs at the Institute on Disabilities including Competence and Confidence: Partners in Policymaking for Family Leadership (C2P2/FL); Competence and Confidence: Partners in Policymaking for Families of Children in Early Intervention (C2P2/EI); Families First; Inclusive Leadership in Action; and the Academy for Adult Learning. The Administrative Specialist is responsible for researching best practices in community board inclusion; organizing advisory committees, work groups and statewide trainings; and assisting the project director in monitoring subcontractors in the delivery of training to generic boards with the goal of including individuals with disabilities.

Other administrative responsibilities include planning for programs, events, and conferences by securing facilities, making catering arrangements, coordinating speakers, issuing information or invitations, arranging detailed travel plans and itineraries, and controlling event budgets. The Administrative Specialist prepares and organizes written documentation such as agendas, meeting notices, meeting minutes, and resolutions for project related meetings. Managing supervisor's calendar, independently scheduling appointments, managing all incoming and outgoing correspondence and creating and maintaining database and spreadsheet files is also part of the role. Performs other duties as assigned.
