Professor Emerita Bryen Lectures in Guam
Guam Welcomes Professor Emerita Bryen
In October 2008, Diane N. Bryen, PhD, retired Executive Director of the Institute on Disabilities and now Professor Emerita at Temple University, traveled to the Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service at the University of Guam in Mangilao. Dr. Bryen presented lectures about Augmentative and Alternative Communication to 25 students on each of five Saturdays. She also spent time in the field, visiting people in their homes to assess communication needs and designed communication aids to meet those needs. In addition, she advocated for Vocational Rehabilitation to expedite support for assistive technology for employment.
