Posso sonhar e tu apareces
Como Cupido andas namorando as demais
E como Narciso sou a tua Eco

Sou como o rio que namorou duma ninfa que quis escapar
E espero o dia quando nós unimos na fonte de grande amar

at the same time
I dream and you appear
Like Cupid you go around enamoring the rest
And like Narcissus I am your Echo

I only hear the sound of my own desperation that is loving you, loving you
I am like the river that fell for a Nymph that tried to escape
And I await the day when we’ll unite in the fountain of great love
I fall more and more each time your lips say my name and because of it I’m
no longer me
Kellye Hawkins is a Philadelphia native who is currently preparing her dissertation proposal in the Department
of Spanish and Portuguese. She loves language, the creative arts, and music. She has found a way to express
herself “multilingually” through a combination of poetic license and inspiration which make her words dance
