IH 51 Syllabus

Required and Optional Readings
The syllabus for each section of Intellectual Heritage is set by the instructor. But it is drawn from the common set of required and optional readings which are listed below.

The IH Syllabus 51 Revision Committee has settled on a core required set of IH 51 readings that should take 10-11 weeks of the term, and a recommended group of optional readings for the remainder.  Faculty are welcome to use additional readings that do not appear on this list,  providing that the director or associate directors approve in advance.

Readings found in the new IH 51 anthology, Key Readings, third edition, are marked with an asterisk (*).

All required texts will be available at the Temple Bookstore. Faculty members who plan to use one of the optional works should consult with the Program Director or Associate Director about purchasing procedures.
