Intellectual Heritage






Matthew J. Smetona is an assistant professor in the Intellectual Heritage Program. He received his Ph.D. in political science from Temple University in 2010. His first book, Hegel's Logical Comprehension of the Modern State, was published in 2013 by Lexington Books, an imprint of Rowman & Littlefield. He has written articles either published or forthcoming in Telos and in Epoché: A Journal for the History of Philosophy and he has served as a manuscript referee for Constellations: An International Journal of Critical and Democratic Theory, European Journal of Political Theory, and Journal of Social Philosophy. His research interests center on modern European philosophy, Marxism, and critical social theory.
