ARRIVAL IN PHILADELPHIA Because the office, like the University, is closed on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), you should arrange to arrive during our office hours which are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Eastern Time, Monday to Friday. We are unable to meet arriving students at the station or airport. HELPFUL ADVICE ON TRAVELING If you have any problem while traveling in the United States, please feel free to ask people for help. In the airport and bus stations of large cities, the information desk is there to provide assistance to travelers. Before your arrival in the U.S., it is advisable to obtain some small U.S. coins for tipping, telephone calls, and miscellaneous expenses. Until you are settled, keep money , jewelry, passports, and other documents in your possession or in a hotel safe. DO NOT leave them in luggage or boxes even if they are placed in a "storage locker" or in a locked automobile. WE STRONGLY ADVISE YOU NOT TO CARRY LARGE AMOUNTS OF CASH. Instead, we suggest that you carry money in the form of Traveler's checks. These are redeemable for instant cash at most banks in the world. TRANSPORTATION TO TEMPLE UNIVERSITY Because of the large number of new students and their varied times of arrival and ports of entry, it is not possible for our Program to meet students at the airport or train and bus stations.

FROM BUS TERMINAL TO TEMPLE UNIVERSITY The easiest and smartest thing to do is to take a taxi cab to your destination. Using public transportation in a city you do not know is sometimes confusing, especially while you are carrying luggage with you. The taxi ride should not be much more than $15.00. It is worth the price. FROM 30TH STREET TRAIN STATION TO TEMPLE UNIVERSITY Ask at the ticket counter
