IELP TRIP SCHEDULE

Health Insurance:

All new IELP students should come to the IELP office
in order to pick up their new 'continued attendance' I-20 as well as health insurance card.

Please make sure that you ask ALL immigration questions to the Assistant Director, Maureen McNerney. She is the only person that can help you!

IELP Policy concerning letters of recommendation:

The IELP now requires students seeking letters of recommendation to make a formal request at the office desk.  Students should not ask their instructors directly.  Following a student's request, the student's most recent teachers will meet to discuss his or her request, and if a unanimous (everyone agrees)favorable decision is reached, the student will receive the letter.  The IELP will contact the student via email when the letter(s) can be picked up.

Printing for IELP students:

IELP students cannot print in computer labs on campus because they have not paid the tech fee. If you would like to print from a computer on campus, you can do this by buying Diamond Dollars (http://www.temple.edu/diamonddollars/). You can put an amount of money in your account and use that money to print anywhere on campus. When you put money in your account, you can access it with your ID card. If you would like to put Diamond Dollars 'on' your ID card, you can go to the Diamond Dollars office at 1910 Liacouras Walk, suite 202 (near 7-11).

Document processing

You must allow at least ONE WEEK for any documents to be processed by the office (signature on the I-20 for travel, application for a legal break, etc).  Any less time given to the task will result in your request not being approved in time for your trip, etc.

DRIVER'S LICENSE ANNOUNCEMENT:

We have received information that international students may now be able to get driver's licenses without a social security number. Interested students should come to the IELP to request an enrollment verification letter and a driver's license letter. You should take these letters to the Social Security office. You will receive a rejection letter from the Social Security Administration, which you can then take to the Division of Motor Vehicles to apply for a driver's license.

YOUR I-20:

All IELP students must look at their I-20. On the first page, item #3 should say 'CONTINUED attendance at this school'. If it does not say this, come into the IELP office to get your new I-20. You can come to the office at lunch or after school.
