Major medical health insurance is required for students in the IELP in Nonimmigrant Student (F-1 and J-1) status:
bullet Proof of insurance, in English, must be presented before classes begin each academic term.
bullet Major medical health insurance must provide coverage for a minimum of U.S.$ 50,000.00.
bullet The major medical health insurance policy must provide coverage while student is in the United States.
bullet Traveler's insurance is not acceptable for this requirement.
bullet If you do not have major medical health insurance or do not have proof of current coverage, you may purchase major medical health insurance through the IELP. The current cost of this coverage is approximately U.S.$ 10.50/week for students under thirty (30) years of age and approximately U.S.$ 11.50/week for students thirty (30) years of age or older.

*Living Expenses is an approximate; actual amounts will depend on individual student spending habits.

**All amounts are subject to change with prior notification. Students intending to register should not bring pre-written checks, but should wait until the date of registration before preparing check amounts.
