Teresa Scott Soufas, Spanish and Portuguese, Dean, CLA
"Isabel I and the Queen's Three Bodies"

A specialist in Golden Age Spanish literature, Prof. Soufas has authored three books: Melancholy and the Secular Mind in Spanish Golden Age Literature, Dramas of Distinction: Plays by Spanish Golden Age Women, and Women’s Acts: Plays by Women Dramatists of Spain’s Golden Age. She is Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Professor of Spanish.

All talks will be at 3:30 and will take place in Anderson 1123.

Delaware Valley Medieval Association Travel Grant Application 2007-2008

ELIGIBILITY

The competition is limited to graduate students, independent scholars, or part-time/ temporary faculty who are not eligible for research funds from their institution. Applicants must already be members of the Association  (joined or renewed during calendar year 2007). Past recipients of the grant are not eligible.

FUNDS AND CONDITIONS OF USE

We offer a subsidy of up to $300 to present a paper at a conference or to travel for research. Either must have taken place, or will take place, between 1 September 2007 and 1 September 2008 (that is, this academic year and the coming summer).

  • your CV
  • a statement (1-page limit) of the purpose for the travel (including name of conference and paper title, or specific research plans)
  • brief (3-page limit) of the larger research project
  • a disclosure of any other funding for which you have applied or plan to apply Applications are due by March 15, 2008.

The recipient will be announced at our meeting on 26
April.
