Interdisciplinary Research Groups

Application Deadline for all 2009-10 groups is Sept. 21, 2009.

Consultation is available for shaping group funding proposals. Contact Peter Logan.

Interdisciplinary Research Groups (IRGs) are intended to bring together faculty and graduate students from different departments and disciplines with shared research interests

Participants meet at least monthly throughout the year. IRGs should seed new and vital research activity and are not meant to provide ongoing support for existing programs. Funds can be used to cover costs for books, visiting speakers, and other programming expenses.

Proposals that engage emerging fields of inquiry and/or are linked to creating new interdisciplinary curricula are especially encouraged, as are group models other than a speaker series. Awards are up to $1,500.

Any two full-time faculty members from different departments may propose an IRG. Groups need a minimum of four additional members. Membership is open to all, including students and faculty outside of Temple.

Applications are accepted in early Fall for the academic year. Please see the complete guidelines for details.
