Graduate students are VIPs

2011 Graduate Conference Poster: Public IntellectualAt the Center, graduate students are encouraged in their research and regarded as early professionals in their careers. The Center sponsors workshops geared to their needs, like the recent workshop on writing funding applications.

Audience at the 2011 Graduate ConferenceGraduate fellows and associate fellows put together an interdisciplinary conference at the end of each fellowship year. The support of the Center allows them to create an event that is truly original and multi-disciplinary. The most recent conference was The Public Intellectual (April 2011), featuring Kathryn Hirsh-Pasek, Lewis R. Gordon, David Greenberg and Marc Lamont-Hill.

Marc Lamont-Hill speaking at the 2011 Graduate ConferenceIn the Fellows Seminar, graduate students discover new ways of thinking illuminate their own work. At the same time, they discover how analysis functions in other disciplines, becoming more aware of the consequences the follow from their own disciplinary assumptions.

The Center offers three different kinds of awards to current graduate students at temple. Visit the links above for complete information about each program.
