Graduate students are VIPs

At the Center, graduate students are encouraged in their research and regarded as early professionals in their careers. The Center sponsors workshops geared to their needs, like the recent workshop on writing funding applications.

Michael GomezGraduate fellows and associates put together an interdisciplinary conference at the end of each fellowship year. The support of the Center allows them to create an event that is truly original and multi-disciplinary. The most recent conference was Crossing Borders: Dialogues on Transnationalism (April 2008), featuring Michael Gomez (right), NYU Professor of History and Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies.

In the Fellows Seminar, graduate students discover new ways of thinking illuminate their own work. At the same time, they discover how analysis functions in other disciplines, becoming more aware of the consequences the follow from their own disciplinary assumptions.

The Center offers three different kinds of awards to current graduate students at temple. Visit the links above for complete information about each program.
