Fall 2009 Interdisciplinary Graduate Course List

CHAT offers several original courses each semester by arrangement with existing departments. These inovative undergraduate courses are created by CHAT fellows and highlight the value of interdisciplinarity for students who are just learning the basic rules of their own disciplines.

Courses are often offered through the generous cooperation of Temple's Honors Program, directed by Dr. Ruth Ost. Others are listed in one department and then cross-listed in others. Whether involving materials from anthropology, literature, mass media, philosophy, or all four, these are stimulating, student-centered experiences, designed to challenge participants to think in new ways. See the list of current and previous offerings for further information.

Many graduate students are interested in taking courses in other departments. We try to facilitate this by listing current interdisciplinary graduate courses that welcome students from other disciplines. All courses are taught by members of the graduate faculty, and the list is updated midway through the preceeding semester.

Faculty interested in having their upcoming graduate course included in the list should send the course name, number, times, location, and a course description, along with their contact information, to chat@temple.edu.
