The Iris and Gene Rotberg
Undergraduate Research Humanities Awards
A Faculty/Undergraduate Research Initiative
The Center for the Humanities at Temple (CHAT) and the College of Liberal Arts are pleased to announce the availability of Iris and Gene Rotberg Undergraduate Research in the Humanities Awards for Spring 2008. Tenured and tenure-track faculty members may request up to $2,500 as a stipend for a research assistant to work on humanities-related research projects.
These awards allow undergraduates to develop the skills and perspective that can only come from involvement in a major research project. They are made possible by the generosity of Iris and Gene Rotberg.
Applications should be about 4 pages, written in standard research proposal format. They should include:
- Introductory overview of the proposal
- Detailed description of the research the student will be asked to perform
- Explanation of the potential value of the research to the student's education
- Significance of the project. If this is part of a larger project, please include an explanation
- Any additional information you think pertinent to the proposal.
It is preferable but not essential that the faculty applicant identify in the proposal the undergraduate student s/he intends to serve as the research assistant.
The extended deadline for applications is December 3, 2007
Awards will be announced by December 10
Electronic applications are preferred. Please direct applications to:
