William Lawson
William Lawson is currently an ABD student in the discipline
of political science at Temple University. He earned a B.A.
degree in social psychology from the University of
Pennsylvania. After a traumatic injury, he earned Masters'
of Social work and M.A. degrees at Temple University. His
dissertation project is an investigation of the role of the
media in the evolution of disability policy. He also acts a
consultant to staff in the Pennsylvania state legislature,
and is presently working on a proposal with a nonprofit
corporation to alleviate violence and dropout rates in the
Philadelphia school system. He also was an adjunct professor
in his department from 1998-2003. He is returning from a
leave (2003-2006), and presently guest lectures in a course
on disability culture and policy in the Graduate School of
Education.
