world we are all having difficulty giving up the paper. Those reams of paper cost money, along with those

Allow duplex printing in the computer labs in the dorms. Also updating the software on the computers
would help too. There are some computers in 1300 just sitting there because they have no internet or word
processing programs that are neccessary for practical use.

into sleep mode when they walk away from their computers. This says thousands of dollars.

Eliminate inidivudal deskjet or desktop printers. ALL printing to be done to centralized laser jet printers (one
per office/unit, etc.). This will save on toner, service calls, paper, etc.

When equipment is not in use and does not need to be kept on - unplug it. Although its turned off - if it`s
plugged in it is still using electricity. You will be shocked at how much you save in energy/electrical costs.

Have all office computers networked to a copier, which would eliminate the need for personal printers and
allleviate the electricity drain.The printers could then be resold, or donated for a tax incentive.

Well make sure every printer is capable of printing on both the front and back sides of one piece of
paper, and apply that setting. This will help create a more green atmosphere and decrease paper cost by
50 pc. of what it would have been. Make a club designated for students who wish to volunteer. Give this
club a fancy name and it will double the original student population of the club. Uses these students
however you want. Make a ranking system where it appears like your working towards something, so
people wish to help for free.

1. On the 8th Floor of Wachman Hall there are quite a few servers - many could be consolidated and we
would save money on licensing software and electricity and probably man/woman power.2. The University
has the BB Content System that can be used for collaborative workspace - no need for disparate
systems like Microsoft Sharepoint Server that some colleges at HSC are considering for collaborative
workspace. Save money on licensing and man/woman power administering and maintaining an additional
system.
