Registration opens for Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day
You may now register for Temple’s first universitywide Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day on Thursday, April 24.
Activities for children ages 8 to14 will introduce them to the variety of career options available at Temple.
Children will not be allowed to attend the program without being registered by their parents, legal guardians or other relatives. For registration and release forms, visit the Human Resources web site, www.temple.edu/hr, and click on the link under “Latest News & Upcoming Events.” Registration forms must be received in Human Resources by Thursday, April 3.
Here is the schedule for the day’s activities, themed “Inspire the Future”:
- Please bring your children to room 200 of the Howard Gittis Student Center between 8 and 8:30 a.m. to sign them in for the day. You must provide your Temple University Identification Card (OWLcard) to verify registration.
- A light breakfast of muffins, bagels, fruit and juice will be served.
- One adult and one student volunteer will accompany 15 children of the same age group to all activities, scheduled in 45-minute intervals throughout the day.
- A variety of age-specific activities are planned for the morning session.
- The children will return from morning activities for lunch at 12:30 p.m. You are invited to join your children for lunch in room 200 of the Student Center.
- After lunch, children will watch a film at the movie theater in the lower level of the Student Center, or will participate in additional activities.
- The program will end with an ice cream social from 3 to 3:30 p.m. in room 200 of the Student Center.
- Please pick up your children by 3:30 in room 200 of the Student Center and take them back to your work location for the rest of the work day.
All Temple offices will remain open for business as usual for the entire day. Please inform your supervisor about your plans to participate in this program, which may include leaving your office for the lunch or the ice cream social.
