Administrative Professionals’ Seminar and Luncheon

Wednesday, March 19, 2008

In honor of Administrative Professionals’ Day, Temple University will hold celebrations on Monday, April 21 (Main Campus), and Tuesday, April 22 (Health Sciences Center) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Presented by Human Resources’ Learning and Development office, the events will mark the 20th anniversary of honoring one of the most valued groups at the university: administrative professionals and support staff. From providing excellent customer service for Temple students and clients, to managing teams and projects for their supervisors, administrative professionals are essential in helping Temple provide excellent educational opportunities and support for students, faculty, staff and the community.

A nine-person committee of administrative professionals from different departments planned all the events. The committee members took the time out of their busy schedules to help start a new trend at Temple: to help fellow administrative professionals take charge of their career development and to find ways to motivate, encourage and collaborate with each other for professional and personal success.

The events’ theme, “It’s All About You!” denotes the celebration of all the accomplishments and achievements administrative professionals have done for Temple. The program will consist of a panel of Temple administrative professionals who will share their career experiences with the group, a networking luncheon and entertainment. In lieu of having a special program for supervisors and their staff in the morning, the supervisors will help serve lunch.

Administrative professionals and support staff should register at www.temple.edu/hr/training by Wednesday, April 16. Supervisors who are interested in serving should contact the Learning and Development office by Wednesday, April 16. The cost of the event is $35 per administrative professional. If you have any questions, contact Kim Sakil at 215-204-1683 or kimberly.sakil@temple.edu.
