New Hire Orientation: Welcome to the Temple Team

 

In an effort to orient new faculty and staff on relevant policies, procedures, resources and benefits Temple has to offer, the Temple University Human Resources Department presents an orientation session called Welcome to the Temple Team.  This half-day program is offered twice monthly and all new employees and faculty are required to attend.

Some of the orientation topics include:

  • Introduction to the Employee Manual and Rules of Conduct
  • Temple Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow

  • An overview of the Workers’ Compensation Benefit Program

  • Campus Safety

  • Temple’s Performance Development System

  • Valuing Diversity & Preventing Harassment at Temple University

  • IT at TU

  • Employee/Labor Relations

  • Health, Dental and other benefits (Attendance is required for benefit enrollment for employees who are eligible)

Registration is required and is arranged through the HR Generalist or Business Manager of a specific school or college.

Each new hire letter for non-faculty designates the time, date and location of the orientation session.  Full time faculty members must register themselves by contacting Kimberly Sakil at 215-204-1683 or Eric Brunner at 215-204-3318.

Some documentation that can be helpful to have at the orientation:

  1. A copy of your “Hire Letter”

  2. Social Security numbers of legal dependents

  3. Your supervisor’s name and phone extension

Any other questions regarding new hire orientation may be directed to your HR Generalist or the Business Manager of your school or college.

Temple employees who are promoted or transferred are required to attend the benefit enrollment portion if there is a benefit change and the entire orientation if it has been five (5) years or more since they attended a New Hire Orientation.
