The Human Resources Department has restructured its "compensation", “recruitment" and "staffing” functions to align them with the University departments they serve. In doing so, we have created teams of Human Resources Generalists that in addition to being responsible for filling positions, serve as the “point of contact” for Schools/Colleges and administrative staff on all HR related matters. This model enables the HR Generalist teams to better understand the operations, needs and concerns of their client departments and supports a partnership between the two units.

Each team has a Director or Senior HR Generalist overseeing all Human Resources functions for their assigned areas.  By utilizing a “team” concept, you will be able to get information from any team member if your HR Generalist is not available. We have provided a complete listing below of the HR Generalists along with a short "bio" explaining their areas of expertise:

 

Human Resources Services

Karen Ward, SPHR, Assistant Vice President, 215-204-3317

Karen is responsible for all of the HR Generalists and the Offices of the President, Provost and Sr. Vice President Financial Administration.

Velma Caraballo, Administrative Specialist, 215-204-3317

Velma provides administrative support to the Assistant Vice President of Human Resources Operations.  This includes: scheduling appointments and meetings, maintaining her calendar, typing correspondence and reports and disseminating information.  She also is responsible for coordinating documentation for H1B Visas and Labor Certifications for employees and faculty.

Mariame Savane , HR Coordinator, 215-204-5512

Mariame provides assistance to the HR Generalist Teams with daily recruitment activity, background check requests, and coordination of administrative tasks.

Michael Robinson, Director - Community Outreach, 215-204-0677

Michael manages employment outreach and job readiness training for community residents.

Nechole Nash , Senior HR Generalist, 215-204-3013

Nechole will be responsible for managing the Employment Reception Office and supporting the Sponsored Programs Department and the Office of Physician and Faculty Recruitment at the School of Medicine.

Brandon Saunders , Associate HR Generalist, 215-204-3376

Brandon supports the HR Generalists with recruitment for administrative and clerical positions.  He is responsible for interviewing, testing, and pre-screening administrative support candidates.

Health Sciences Portfolio Team

Joanne Zeas, Director - Human Resources, 215-707-5136

Joanne manages HR services for the School of Medicine, Kornberg School of Dentistry, College of Health Professions and School of Social Work, School of Pharmacy, School of Podiatric Medicine, Environmental Health and Radiation Safety.

Laurie Kagan-Asbury, Associate HR Generalist, 215-707-2851

Laurie supports HR services for University Departments on the Health Sciences Center Campus.  Laurie is primarily responsible for the recruitment of Administrative and Clinical positions.

Debbie Hinnerschitz, HR Generalist, 215-707-7957

Debbie supports HR services for University Departments on the Health Sciences Center Campus and the School of Podiatric Medicine.  She is primarily responsible for the recruitment of Clinical and Administrative Professionals.

Sean Patton, Senior HR Generalist, 215-707-3684

Sean supports HR services for University Departments on the Health Sciences Center Campus.  He is responsible for the recruitment of Research Professionals and other roles throughout the Health Sciences portfolio.  He also will provide oversight of the Temporary Staffing Agency process.

Josephine Perkins, Administrative Assistant, 215-707-5135

Josephine is responsible for the processing of all Temporary Help requests as well as processing of the invoices. She also scans all hard copy resumes into the iGreentree system and is the back-up for the Front Reception area.

 

Academic Portfolio Team

Lisa manages HR services for the Provost's portfolio (all Schools & Colleges) as well as Computer Services.

Karen Brinkley, HR Generalist, 215-204-0145                         

Karen supports the Provost's team and provides HR services for the Academic Units as well as Research/Grant related positions.

Sharlita Brown, Senior HR Generalist, 215-204-3314 

Sharlita supports the Provost's team and provides HR services for the Academic Units as well as the Center City

and Ambler campuses.

Deborah B. Conly, HR Generalist, 215-204-6357

Deb supports the Provost's Portfolio including Academic and Research Grant related positions.

Kimberly's team is responsible for Athletics, Strategic Marketing and Communications, Architecture and Campus Planning, Finance, Administration, Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, Business Services, Facilities (E-Class 20, 25) Local 835: Main Campus, Campus Safety Services, Financial Services and Purchasing (Main), Government, Community & Public Affairs, and Institutional Advancement.

Human Resources Core Group

Ernest Alston, Administrative Specialist, 215-204-7174

Ernest is responsible for all activities in our main reception area for the department. This includes greeting all visitors, disseminating information, issuing ID cards, administering pre–employment testing, inputting mail into the department mail log and accepting all new employee/faculty/student paperwork, (I-9, W-4,etc..).

Bobbi Shedrick, Administrative Assistant, 215-204-8656

Bobbi handles the posting of all vacant positions on our Requisition/Applicant Tracking system, iGreentree. She is also responsible for the placement of position announcements on external web sites.
