The Human Resources Department has restructured its "compensation", “recruitment" and "staffing” functions to align them with the University departments they serve. In doing so, we have created teams of Human Resources Generalists that in addition to being responsible for filling positions, serve as the “point of contact” for Schools/Colleges and administrative staff on all HR related matters. This model enables the HR Generalist teams to better understand the operations, needs and concerns of their client departments and supports a partnership between the two units.

Each team has a Director or Senior HR Generalist overseeing all Human Resources functions for their assigned areas.  By utilizing a “team” concept, you will be able to get information from any team member if your HR Generalist is not available. We have provided a complete listing below of the HR Generalists along with a short "bio" explaining their areas of expertise:

 

Human Resources Services

Harry A. Young SPHR, Associate Vice President, 215-204-3317

Harry is responsible for all of the HR Generalists and the Offices of the President, Provost and Sr. Vice President financial Administration.

Velma Caraballo, Administrative Specialist, 215-204-3317

Velma provides administrative support to the Associate Vice President of Human Resources Operations.  This includes: scheduling appointments and meetings, maintaining his calendar, typing correspondence and reports and disseminating information.  She also is responsible for coordinating and posting H1B Visas and Labor Certifications for employees and faculty.

Bill Hart, Co-Director Community Outreach, 215-204-0677

Bill is responsible for assisting permanent residents near Temple’s Main Campus and Health Sciences Center by connecting them to various employment resources and by implementing a plan to increase the number of area residents finding career opportunities at Temple and other local employers.

Julie Brissett, Senior HR Generalist , 215-707-5665

Julie handles recruitment activity for Temple University Physicians, Inc.

Stephanie trains and provides support for users of the student worker and adjunct faculty IGreentree hiring systems.

Health Sciences Portfolio Team

Karen Ward SPHR, Director - Human Resources, 215-707-5136

Karen manages HR services for all University Departments on the Health Sciences Center campus, School of Podiatric Medicine and Center for Intergenerational Learning.

Elaine Smith, HR Generalist/Coordinator, 215-707-7957

Elaine supports HR services for University Departments on the Health Sciences Center Campus and the School of Podiatric Medicine.  She is responsible for the recruitment of Research and Nursing Professionals.

Nechole Nash , HR Generalist/Coordinator, 215-707-3684

Nechole supports HR services for University Departments on the Health Sciences Center Campus.  She is responsible for the recruitment of Administrative and Allied Health Professionals.

Sean Patton, HR Associate, 215-707-2851

Sean supports HR services for University Departments on the Health Sciences Center Campus.  He is responsible for recruitment of Secretarial, Clerical and Adminstrative Support Professionals.

Josephine Perkins, Administrative Assistant, 215-707-5135

Josephine is responsible for the processing of all Temporary Help requests as well as processing of the invoices. She also scans all hard copy resume's into the iGreentree system and is the back-up for the Front Reception area.

 

Academic Portfolio Team

Lisa M. Stepp, Director - Human Resources, 215-204-8060

Lisa manages HR services for the Provost's portfolio (all Schools & Colleges) as well as Computer Services.

Sharlita Brown , HR Generalist/Coordinator, 215-204-3314 

Sharlita supports the Provost's team and provides HR services for the Academic Units as well as the Tyler and Ambler campuses.

Sunaina supports the Provost's team and provides HR services for the Centers as well as Research/Grant related positions.

Karen supports the Provost's team and provides HR services for the Academic Units as well as Research/Grant related positions.

 

Administration Portfolio Team

Joanne Zeas, Director - Human Resources, 215-204-6867

Joanne's team is responsible for Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, Business Services, Communications, Development, Facilities (BU 20, 25) Local 835 Main Campus, Security & Protection, Financial Services and Purchasing (Main).

Marion Parker, HR Generalist/Coordinator, 215-204-8826

Marion supports HR services for all Administrative/Student Services areas of the University.

Aisha Bond, HR Generalist/Coordinator, 215-204-9027

Aisha supports the Administrative/Student Services Team and handles all Administrative Support positions for the Administrative/Student Services area.

 

Human Resources Core Group

Abe Hedgcock SPHR, HR Generalist/Coordinator, 215-204-3332  

Abe supervises the Core Team functions (interviewing, testing and pre-screening administrative support candidates). He is currently committed to the ERP team.

Tim Oyekanmi, HR Associate, 215-204-6476 

Tim supervises the Core Team functions related to interviewing, testing and pre-screening administrative support candidates. He also oversees the position posting and advertising process along with the day to day maintenance of our on-line requisition/applicant tracking system.

Bobbi Shedrick, Administrative Assistant, 215-204-8656

Bobbi handles the posting of all vacant positions on our Requisition/Applicant Tracking system, iGreentree. She is also responsible for the placement of position announcements on external web sites.

Connie O'Donnell, Administrative Assistant, 215-204-7174

Connie is responsible for all activities in our main reception area for the department. This includes greeting all visitors, disseminating information, issuing ID cards, administering pre–employment testing, inputting mail into the department mail log and accepting all new employee/faculty/student paperwork, (I-9, W-4,etc..).
