Retirement Plan Online Enrollment Guide

 

Enrolling in your Temple University Retirement Plan is convenient, with a simple online process that can be completed in 15 minutes or less! Temple University has worked with our vendors to enable you to set up your account directly with Fidelity Investments and/or TIAA-CREF on their enrollment web sites.

To enroll in the Temple University Retirement Plan, you will need to do the following:

  1. You are REQUIRED to complete a Salary Reduction Agreement Form. This form needs to be sent directly to the Benefits Office in order to initiate your payroll deductions. You can email it to Retirement@temple.edu or fax 215-926-2288.

 AND

       2. You are REQUIRED to complete enrollment material directly with TIAA-CREF and/or Fidelity

            Investments. If you need paper enrollment materials, please e-mail Retirement@temple.edu or call 215-926-

          2281.

To simplify your on-line enrollment, please have the following information before logging on:

a.  Personal information: Social Security number, address, and date of birth.

b. Investment option choices: You will need to select investment options. A complete listing of the

    investment options is available for your review during the enrollment process.

c.  Your beneficiary’s name, date of birth and an address. It is suggested that you also have their Social

     Security number.

 

To enroll with Fidelity Investment

   1. Set up a Fidelity Account:

- Go to the Fidelity on-line enrollment site: https://enrollonline.fidelity.com

- You will need to enter Plan ID Number: 89090 

- Confirm your information and enrollment.

- For questions, call Fidelity at 1-800-343-0860.

    2. Select investment options

         - Log on to your account and follow the instructions to elect your investment options.

         - A complete listing of the investment options will be available for your review during the enrollment process.

         - You must pick investment options. If you are uncertain of fund choices now, you can pick a Freedom

            Fund. Select the year you might possibly retire and Fidelity will invest funds for you.

         - You may always change your elections later.

   3. Designate your beneficiary

 

To enroll with TIAA-CREF

    1. Set up a TIAA-CREF Account:

          - Go to www.tiaa-cref.org/temple and click on Enroll Now. Next, click on the plan name under the On-line

            Enrollment section.

          - Confirm your information and enrollment.

          - For questions, call TIAA-CREF at 800-842-2252

    2. Select investment options

          - Log on to your account and follow the instructions to elect your investment options.

          - A complete listing of the investment options will be available for your review during the enrollment process.

          - You must pick investment options. If you are uncertain of fund choices now, you can pick a Lifecycle

            Fund. Select the year you might possibly retire and TIAA-CREF will invest funds for you.

          - You may always change your elections later.

     3. Designate your beneficiary.

Congratulations! You've enrolled in your Temple University Retirement Plan!
