Defined Contribution Plan for Police and Security Officers (Local 511)

 

Eligibility

You may begin contributions effective the first of the month following your hire date.

Vesting

You will be 100% vested after three (3) years of credited service.


Contributions

Temple University will contribute 4% of an employee's base salary - no employee contribution is required.

Effective March 1, 2013:

- If an employee contributes 1% of his or her base salary, then Temple will contribute

  5% of the base salary.

- If an employee contributes 2% of his or her base salary, then Temple will contribute

 6% of the base salary.

- If an employee contributes 3% of his or her base salary, then Temple will contribute

 7% of the base salary.

Investment Alternatives:

  • You may allocate Temple's contributions between Fidelity Investments and TIAA-CREF (Teachers Insurance Annuity Association & College Retirement Equities Fund).
  • Both Fidelity Investments and TIAA-CREF offer a wide choice of investments. The investment choices include a variety of growth, stock, bond, money market, balanced, and fixed interest funds.
