Rewards Program Summary

The Total Wellness rewards program provides you with tools, resources and challenging activities to help you take steps to improve and maintain your overall health and well being. This program provides individual preventative care recommendations, an on-line health assistant, and access to a Blue Cross Health coach and Wellness coach, team challenges, on-line wellness seminars, nutrition counseling and educational resources. You will earn rewards based on the activities you complete and the points you receive by participating in the activities.


To Begin, complete the following 3 activities and earn a $50 reward card:

     1) Wellness profile – 25 points

      2) Biometric Screening – 25 points

      3) Set a goal using your on-line Health Assistant – 25 points


Continue to earn points by taking healthful steps and earn a $50 reward card each time you reach 75 points:

  • Maximum reward card value for the plan year is $200.00
  • Plan Year: July 2015 to June 30, 2016

Health Plan premium discount:

Earn 300 points during the plan year AND complete your Wellness profile, a Biometric Screening and set a goal using your on-line Health Assistant, you may be eligible for a discount towards your employee health contribution for the plan year beginning July 2016 and ending June 30, 2017. (Premium discounts are based on job classification and collective bargaining agreements)


$50 reward cards are issued quarterly during the current plan year:

  • September 30th
  • December 31st
  • March 31st
  • June 30th

The monthly reduction in employee contributions toward health care is received during the following plan year. 

  • July 2016 to June 30, 2017. (Premium discounts are based on job classification and collective bargaining agreements).
