Lindsay Bitler '12

Would you paint yourself green at an Eagles game and do just about anything for season tickets?  So would Lindsey Bitler, a lifelong Eagles fan who dreamed of working with her favorite team.  Her love for the sport and interest in TV production made her a perfect match for an internship with the Eagles Television Network (ETN), which she applied for on a whim last fall.  This sophomore Broadcast, Telecommunications & Mass Media and History double major had her dream come true when she was invited for an interview and offered the internship on the spot.

The ETN family welcomed Lindsey right away.  She had hands-on experience with television and radio, researching teams and stats, assisting with shots on the field, creating graphics and interviewing players.  The perks?  Lindsey was on the sidelines at every home game.  She has met and chatted with the players, including Donovan McNabb, whom she grew up admiring.  Lindsey’s effort and enthusiasm paid off: when the preseason begins in August, she will be an official part time ETN employee.

Lindsey’s focus will be radio when she returns to ETN; some of her duties will include editing clips and assisting in interviews.  Furthermore, Lindsey will supervise new interns.  Ideally, Lindsey hopes to continue working with ETN upon graduation; the Eagles organization strives to create and improve a quality product, which she admires.

Lindsey, recent recipient of the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia scholarship, is an Honors Peer Mentor, the Public Relations Consultant for the Broad Street Line, a men’s a capella group, and a member of the Honors Activity Board and College Republicans.  An athlete herself, Lindsey plays intramural hockey, dodgeball, soccer and flag football.  Who knows, maybe she will get the chance to play a few quarters with the team! - by Danielle Masi, ’12

“Temple Honors is like a good personal trainer.  They help you to identify your strengths and improve upon your weaknesses, and they demand more of you than you may demand of yourself.  In doing so, they help you to exceed your own expectations and then set new goals for your self as you progress.”

Jeff, a past Udall Foundation Scholar, is currently a Graduate Environmental Scientist with Pennoni Associates, Inc., a multreciepientidisciplinary engineering firm based in Philadelphia. The environmental division in his company works to facilitate real estate transactions and improvements by identifying and addressing environmental issues with properties.  His work involves historical research, fieldwork such as soil and groundwater sampling, and technical report writing.
