Welcome to the Temple University
Honors Program!
Our Mission
The Honors Program at Temple University is dedicated to providing our high-achieving students with enriching academic opportunities, holistic advising, a dynamic and inclusive community, and strong encouragement and support along the way to commencement—and beyond.
About the Program
The Honors Program is part of the mix that makes Temple University a wonderful place to earn a degree.
We offer Honors seminars taught by outstanding faculty, one-on-one academic advising, an Honors Scholars option for those who wish to complete an Honors Project, and housing in the Honors Living-Learning Community (with a four-year option beginning with the class of 2014). We provide leadership opportunities through Honors—the Honors Peer Mentor Program (HPM), the Honors Service Immersion Programs (HIP), and the Honors Activities Board (HAB).
Details about fulfilling Honors Program requirements can be found in our Handbook.
Who are the Honors students?
They hail from hometowns across the U.S. and beyond our borders. They major in politics, painting, biochemistry, jazz performance, mechanical engineering, history, film, education and finance (just to name a few). They lead campus organizations, they star in theater productions, they march in Temple’s marching band, they rock climb, play rugby—and win nationally competitive scholarships. They are deeply involved on campus and in the community. They study abroad. They exercise their individual rights to be interesting, creative and productive. Following in the footsteps of our alumni, they lead remarkable lives. This is just a sketch of Honors. We hope it will inspire you to look further.
