“Make sure you have a plan. But don't make it so rigid as it can't accommodate all the curve balls that life WILL throw you, like overlapping classes or heavy work loads, or extracurriculars. Keep calm and utilize all that Temple has to offer, like advising, the tech center, the writing labs, the tutoring... the list goes on. College is what you make it.”

“Try to find a healthy balance between academics and other activities. The transition to college is a tough one, but it also can be really fun as long as you do not stress yourself out too much. Also, take advantage of all the resources available to you as a student, whether it be the writing center, the gym, or various other things. Finally, do not be afraid to meet and become close to new people, you might just find someone that you are going to be close with for life.”

“I would encourage and incoming Freshman to go explore Philadelphia. This is still one of my personal goals- to discover unusual and interesting places in this city. I think it is important to interact with your environment and to learn about its history. I would also challenge them to find beauty in our neighborhood and community.”

“I would tell incoming freshmen to not worry about having their career goals in order during the first year. Take advantage of the time to explore classes that sound interesting, or join a club that they think they'd enjoy. Using the first year to explore different options can lead to unique networking opportunities and great friendships.”
