Laura Stein, Class of 2009A Tourism and Hospitality Management and Environmental Studies double major, Stein was named a Diamond Research Scholar in the spring of 2007. She spent the following summer in Spain, conducting a comparative study of views of sustainable tourism. For example, how much are people in Spain willing to spend on a hotel with solar panels and other environmental technologies vs. people in the United States? She has previously presented her research at conferences in Harrisburg and NYC, and will now travel to Vancouver at the end of the month for the Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism Conference (it's sort of a big deal, as the Minister of Tourism for all of Canada will be speaking).
