Three major research centers are located within the Temple History Department: The Center for the Study of Force and Diplomacy; the Feinstein Center for American Jewish History; and the Center for Public History. Each of these centers maintains a rich scholarly life, hosting speakers, spearheading new research projects, and holding conferences. The centers are also closely linked with the life of Philadelphia and the region, and offer stipends to graduate students who work in related fields.

The Department also houses the Journal of the Early Republic, the flagship journal for early U.S. history.
