Modern Europe, Eastern Europe and Habsburg history, European Gender, War and Society, Comparative Nationalism.

Personal Statement:
My work has focused primarily on early nationalism in Central Europe, particularly within the Habsburg Empire. I am interested in the way national and nationalist rhetoric and activities were integrated into daily life, as well as how national identity and status interacted. I am currently working on a biography of Empress Maria Theresa
