HELP SELECT OUR NEW DEAN!!
In short, Temple will be sending members of the search firm, Isaacson, Miller Inc, to Harrisburg to solicit our feedback regarding what WE want as qualifications for our new SSA Dean of whom we hope to have chosen by late Spring, 2009. All students are invited to participate between the hours of 5-6pm, Wednesday, July 23. Refreshments are being provided!

Your new SWSA team is hosting the first Public Meeting of its tenure! Please join us for refreshments between 5-6pm, Tuesday, July 29, in the Student Lounge. Meet your new team representatives, find out more about what the SWSA has done and is planning for the coming 2008-09 school year, and enjoy socializing with your colleagues. TITLE PROTECTION FOR SOCIAL WORKERS
Title protection for social workers was recently signed into law by Gov. Rendell. House Bill 1693 is now law and takes effect on September 8, 2008. Those who are not social workers can no longer use the professional title "social worker".
NASW-PA is formulating a process to send a letter to employers who are assigning the professional title "social worker" to non-social workers. If you find this happening with an employer you know about, please contact NASW-PA with the employers name and address.
Additionally, please be aware that the new law will change the number of hours required for the clinical social work license. As of September 8th, those applying for a clinical level social work license will need 3,000 hours of supervision.
