Program Description
The doctoral program in Educational Administration prepares professionals for leadership positions in the direction and management of K-12 and higher education. This includes preparation for the roles of school principal, business administrator, and superintendent. Graduates typically assume administrative positions in schools, school districts, colleges and universities, and in state and federal education agencies. They may also pursue positions as professors of educational administration and engage in the development of new knowledge within the discipline through research.
This degree, considered advanced preparation for an administrative career, offers three strands: General Administration, Higher Education Administration, and School Business Management. An individual program of study is planned in consultation with an advisor. The doctoral option in General Administration fulfills the academic requirements for the Pennsylvania superintendent´s letter of eligibility.
(Please note: not all course requirements are available in Harrisburg, some courses would need to be taken at Fort Washington or Main campus)
