Features of the FDC program

• 90 hours of classroom instruction which includes 10 hours of portfolio development
• Family support based curriculum
• Community based facilitators
• One to one mentoring by portfolio advisors
• Supportive, interactive learning environment
• Portfolio development and documentation of worker skill and knowledge development
• Family development credential issued by Temple University

To earn a FDC, a Family Worker:

• Completes 80 hours of interactive classroom instruction and 10 hours of portfolio advisement
• Prepares a Skills Portfolio with support of a portfolio advisor, and
• Passes a state credentialing exam
