Assistant Director for Academic Programs

The Assistant Director for Academic Programs will manage the academic programs and related student/faculty support services at Temple University Harrisburg,including budget, programmatic and supervisory functions under the direction of and in close collaboration with the Assistant Dean. Supervise and manage the Temple Harrisburg Freshman Year program, Temple in High Schools, Intensive English Language Program and also will coordinate with the main campus academic departments such as: Master of Social Work, Master of Public Health, Play Therapy Program, Master in Community & Regional Planning, Urban Education Certificate program, etc. Develop new credit, degree and certificate opportunities and new activities to support students, the community and the University.

Certified Investigator Trainer (part time)

This grant funded part-time trainer position will work closely with and under the supervision of the Certified Investigation Program Manager to provide face to face training with fidelity to the established training model. This position must be available to assist in fielding external questions when necessary and provide support for the review process. This position will require extensive overnight travel. Field Education Coordinator

Job Number: TU-18025

The Field Education Coordinator for the School of Social Work is responsible for the coordination and administration of field components of the schools’curriculum. This includes, but is not limited to, the interpretation of program policies, development of field sites, selection of Field Instructors, providing for the availability of student field supports and supervision of part-time staff. Primarily, the Field Education Coordinator monitors agencies and field instructors; serves as liaison between field agencies and School; evaluates and develops agencies for use as field placement sites; interviews and matches students with appropriate field placements; negotiates, monitors and evaluates student field education learning plans and assignments; assists students in integrating classroom material with placement learning activities; conducts trainings and provides on-going direction and support for field agency staff;participates in the development of fieldwork curricula and curricular materials, and in other field education departmental activities at the BSW and MSW levels; and attends and participates in faculty meeting and on School committees. Performs other duties as assigned.

LAN Administrator

Research Associate III (part time)

This grant funded part-time Research Associate III position under the direction of the Director/Senior Research Associate performs a high level of independent research and/or serves as lead researcher of a team of research associates and technicians, performing data collection, analysis,and literary research as required. This position will primarily provide processes to ensure a quality evaluation, based on established program evaluation best practices, of the Certified Investigator Training program and assist the Certified Investigation Program Manager in conducting the oversight review of investigations with the goal of quality improvement in all aspects of the program.

Administrative Specialist

Job Number: TU-18046

The Administrative Specialist grant funded position provides a wide variety of administrative and receptionist duties supporting the Certified Investigation Training Program and the general operations of Temple Harrisburg. Performs under general supervision, complex and confidential services to ensure operations flow smoothly. Deals with a diverse group of external callers and visitors as well as internal team members at all levels. Manages and screens inquiries from external callers responding independently when possible and directing inquiries to Program Manager or Trainer as appropriate. Screens all other calls and correspondence responding independently when possible. Completes administrative tasks such as: entering data, tracking of training participants, ensuring all required documentation is submitted, processing certificates and following upon any missing requirements to ensure completion. Directs preparation of records such as agenda, notices, memoranda, minutes and resolutions for meetings. Composes and prepares confidential correspondence, reports, and other complex documents. Assists in planning and arranging logistics related to training implementation to include site locations, scheduling classes,registration and communications. Prepares and reviews forms, policies and specialized reports. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload, recommends changes in office practices and procedures. The position may be required to travel to training sites. Performs other duties as assigned.

To help deliver the services needed we have an immediate opening for instructors in the Intensive English Language Program at Temple Harrisburg.

The instructor teaches course(s) in English as a second language focusing on the core skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening comprehension and related skills in grammar, pronunciation, and other communicative functions.Responsibilities also include adapting curriculum, preparing and scoring student evaluations, and counseling students. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
Master's degree in TESOL (Teaching English to speakers of other languages),Linguistics, or Education. Advanced study in other fields will be considered if combined with TESOL experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:
*Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
*Candidate must demonstrate competency in teaching individuals from countriesother than the United States whose English language skills vary widely.
*Must demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences.

Preferred:
*Minimum of one year teaching experience.
*Previous experience working successfully in similar employment environment andwith similar position responsibilities.
