To help deliver the services needed we have an immediate opening for a Senior Student Services

Coordinator who will cooperate and collaborate with all appropriate faculty and administrative

officials to ensure that Temple University Harrisburg students are, from initial recruitment

through graduation, efficiently provided all relevant assistance supporting a consistently

rewarding student experience that positively contributes to university enrollment retention

objectives. The incumbent helps develop and organize Harrisburg's enrollment management

activities towards the aim of helping to achieve positive institutional recruitment and retention

results, participating in the development of a marketing plan identifying TUH recruitment goals,

initiating, and/or implementing broad-based programs reinforcing goal accomplishment as

appropriate.

 

In addition, the incumbent coordinates with the appropriate academic departments

regarding undergraduate and graduate advising activities and graduate eligibility requirements,

and directly assists in providing and coordinating all other essential student services, as needed.

In addition, the incumbent functions as TUH students’ primary information resource and

problem solver regarding campus enrollment and registration policy and procedure. Further, the

incumbent works with internal and external constituencies in contributing suggestions to the

development, production, overall marketing coordination, and quality control of Harrisburg's

promotional and marketing materials, publications, student and public relations programs, and

special recruiting events. In addition, the incumbent markets TUH programs to the appropriate

parties, communicating relevant information via publications, ads, displays, fairs, etc. The

incumbent works closely with academic department personnel in providing positive

recommendations and suggestions for the overall improvement of student services, recruitment

database file operations and maintenance, and may serve as back-up to department student

service staff. Further, the incumbent participates in researching, proposing, evaluating, and

implementing programs and systems designed to improve departmental services. The incumbent

also directs the daily work of the appropriate support staff and assists faculty with problem

solving, scheduling needs, and other related services. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

Required Education and Experience:

 

Relevant Bachelor’s degree and at least five (5) years directly related experience including

Student Services/Admissions experience including significant Financial Aid exposure.

Experience with adult or non-traditional students desired. An equivalent combination of

education and experience may be considered.

 

Required Skills and Abilities:

 

Excellent coordination skills and oral communication skills.

• Ability to demonstrated flexibility to assist with disparate tasks.

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot effectively and to manage multiple priorities.

• Demonstrated skill to perform basic computer tasks with MS Word, Excel, and Access.

Preferred: Master’s degree strongly preferred; Relevant experience in an educational setting

and with adult or non-traditional students; Experience in marketing.

The instructor teaches course(s) in English as a second language focusing onthe core skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening comprehension andrelated skills in grammar, pronunciation, and other communicative functions.Responsibilities also include adapting curriculum, preparing and scoringstudent evaluations, and counseling students. Performs other duties asassigned.

Required Education and Experience:
Master's degree in TESOL (Teaching English to speakers of other languages),Linguistics, or Education. Advanced study in other fields will be considered ifcombined with TESOL experience. An equivalent combination of education andexperience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:
*Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
*Candidate must demonstrate competency in teaching individuals from countriesother than the United States whose English language skills vary widely.
*Must demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences.

Preferred:
*Minimum of one year teaching experience.

Bibliographic Asst. II

Job Qualifications: 

The Part-Time Bibliographic Assistant II performs bibliographic or library service activities related to the reference, circulation, reserve ILL and serial check-in operations. Provides reference service either face-to-face, by phone, or via email. Responds to questions and assists patrons in finding materials. Contributes to the creation and maintenance of instructional materials for the TUH community. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and at least one year experience in an academic library or related setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

 

Required Skills and Abilities:

*Ability to work four nights a week Monday-Thursday (5-9 pm) and occasional Saturdays (9-5 pm) with seasonal adjustments (semester breaks and holidays).

*Ability to handle a variety of public services, including library/research inquiries.

*Demonstrated interest in research and knowledge of advanced library research procedures and processes.

*Familiarity with Blackboard, RefWorks, APA style, anti-plagiarism software, and Google features.

*Demonstrated skill with MS Office software, especially MS Excel.

*Ability to work in networked computing environments.

*Familiarity with automated library systems.

*Ability to follow instructions and perform detailed work.

*Strong verbal and written communication skills.

*Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

*Ability to work independently.

 

Preferred:

*Current experience providing public services in an academic library.

Research Associate III

Job Qualifications: 

The Research Associate III performs a high level of independent research and/or serves as one of the lead researchers and curriculum developer within the Temple CARITAS program team. The Research Associate will work with community organizations and nonprofit agencies in the design and implementation of research, training projects, grant consultation and program development; research best practices in the provision of services to older adults, perform data collection, analysis, and literary research; monitor instructors and facilitators; and will be responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and directing phases of research activity. In addition, the Research Associate III will assist in the development of research project goals, stating problems to be investigated, creating experimental design, and proposing procedures to be followed; and will participate in locating new projects and work with CARITAS staff in the writing of project and grant proposals. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree and at least three years related research experience including experience in coordinating training events and monitoring instructors and facilitators. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

*Strong knowledge of nonprofit, local government and state government human services.

*Strong organizational, coordination and time management skills.

*Excellent analytical and research evaluation skills.

*Ability to travel to off-site locations that may not be accessible by public transportation. 

Preferred:

*Masters of Social Work (MSW).

*Experience in research or curriculum development related to aging and adult issues.
