TUH offers a variety of graduate degree programs, certificate programs, and professional development opportunities.

Temple University Harrisburg is located in the heart of downtown Harrisburg, the home of Pennsylvania´s state government and capitol. The campus is located within the Strawberry Square complex, close to many state associations and businesses.

At TUH, we cater to the busy adult by offering a convenient evening and weekend course schedule. Outstanding Ph.D. and practitioner faculty provide both on-site and at other Temple program locations in Central Pennsylvania.

Social Work Book Club

Temple students, alumni, faculty and social workers from the Harrisburg area are invited to a Social Work Book Club and Social Work Information night lead by Linda Grobman, the editor of The New Social Worker on Tuesday, November 17 at 8:00 PM. Two copies of the book club selection are available for loan at the TUH Library.

African American Studies Course
Spring Semester 2010 (January 19 - May 3)

Course 8432 African American Family

This graduate level African American Family course is a contemporary theories and research course on the African American family. It includes assessment of family behavior, the role of children, sex roles, and perceptual changes within the context of society, demographic factors, impact of unemployment and underemployment, and income distribution of African American families.

The African American Family course will be taught by
Temple University African American Studies Department Chair: Nathaniel Norment, Jr., Ph.D.

A nationally known scholar, Dr. Norment completed his Ph.D. from Fordham University,

M.S. from Saint Francis University and his B.S. from Ball State University and has published in many professional journals.

This course will be offered in a blended format with some online and in the class meetings.

The course will be offered Tuesday evening´s at 6pm.

Beginning in fall 2009, The Institute for Public Affairs is sponsoring an internship semester in Harrisburg in association with Temple´s Harrisburg campus. Students have the opportunity to explore government affairs, policymaking and implementation first-hand while being full-time students and staying on track to graduation
