The Missing Link in Trauma Recovery
April 24: 12:30pm to 5:00pm
This four hour workshop will provide clinicians with an exploration of how cognitive approaches to trauma treatment are missing a vital component for trauma healing-that of spirituality. The interrelationship between physiology, psychology, behavior management and spirituality will be addressed. The role of spiritual healing in trauma treatment will be clarified. Participants will develop an understanding of the importance of integrating client´s spirituality into the healing process, have an opportunity to become more aware of their own spiritual health through an experiential exercise and explore ways to handle difficult spiritual questions that arise in counseling sessions. It is with spirituality, the missing link, that hurting consumers can gain a truer understanding of their reactions, gain self-control and move forward in healing
