Family Addiction: Evidenced Based ApproachesThis Course is about family addiction and its´ effects on children/adolescents/young adults. This psycho-educational course covers family addiction, known research about its effects on children in the family and the more effective clinical interventions when working with these/children/teens etc. Largely, the course focuses on specific unhealthy behaviors, risk factors, resiliency and coping issues children from families with parental addiction fact on a daily basis coupled with a larger clinical conceptualization. This conceptualization includes cooperating as a class to produce a fictional adolescent client bio-psychosocial model and develop a possible treatment plan. The classes´ plan would rely on the most recent research presented regarding long term mental health issues and research supported common outcomes. Also, there would be a focus on evidence based practical clinical and advocacy interventions for these children/teens. Some examples of these are: following a 12-step Al-Ateen model, family therapy, group/peer support groups, CBT, DBT as well as emancipation efforts, and possible long term supportive living environments etc. | Contact Us |
