Temple University, Philadelphia PA. Temple University’s Department of Geography and Urban Studies (GUS) invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track Assistant Professor beginning in academic year 2012-13. A Ph.D. in Geography or a related field is required by the start of employment.

We are looking for individuals who will excel at instruction related to digital mapping, historical and cultural geography, environment and society, and courses on diversity. GUS (http://www.temple.edu/gus) offers two interdisciplinary undergraduate majors in Geography and Urban Studies and Environmental Studies with nearly 250 majors. GUS also offers two graduate programs - an M.A. in Geography and Urban Studies and a Ph.D. in Urban Studies - consisting of 30 students.

The successful candidate will have a strong teaching record in digital mapping along with an established research record.
