There are three core values that truly define a Phi Sigma Sigma. These values are commitment to lifelong learning, inclusiveness, and leadership through service. These core values distinguish the ideal Phi Sigma Sigma, unite us in our activities and become ingrained in our character. The way we ensure the long-term survival of our beloved sorority is to recruit, retain, and empower women who share the values and ritual consistent with the vision of our founders. Being a sister of Phi Sigma Sigma will bring you not only social, leadership and service opportunities, but will give you a sense of belonging and family. Being part of our sisterhood means making lifelong friendships while you grow as an individual.
Phi Sigma Sigma was founded On November 26, 1913 in Hunter College in New York City. Ten friends all of different backgrounds wanted to become sisters, however because of their differing religious believes, they were unable to join the same sorority – so they started their own.
