Admission Requirements and Deadlines

Application Deadline:

Fall: April 15

Completed applications are processed throughout the year as they are received.

Letters of reference:

Number Required: 2

From Whom: Letters of recommendation should come from college/university faculty members familiar with academic competence and/or immediate work supervisor.

Coursework Required for Admission Consideration:

Although no specific course are required applicants to the Executive M.B.A. program are expected to have 7-10 years of experience with 5-7 years of managerial experience.

Bachelor's Degree in Discipline/Related Discipline:

No.

Statement of Goals:

Applicants for the M.B.A. program are expected to submit a Statement of Goals that describes future goals in specific terms. Applicants should avoid use of generalizations or blanket statements. The Statement of Goals should address how the M.B.A. will assist in achieving the applicant's goals.

Standardized Test Scores:

The GMAT is required. Applications with scores under 550 are not considered for the Executive M.B.A. program. Applicants scoring less than 550 are encouraged to re-take the GMAT to be considered for admission.

Minimum TOEFL score needed to be accepted: 550 paper-based, 213 computer-based, or 79 internet-based.

 

Interview:

Applicants will be offered a pre-screening interview. This interview is designed to determine if a candidate meets the minimal requirements for admission. Since the Executive M.B.A. program requires an applicant to submit a corporate sponsorship agreement, our intention is to prevent candidates not eligible for admission from seeking corporate approval and then being rejected for admission.

Resume:

A resume is required.

Test Waivers:

There is a GMAT waiver for applicants with a J.D., M.D., or other doctoral degree.

Other:

Students must submit a corporate sponsorship agreement.

Campus Location:

Desmond Conference Center

The entire program is provided at the Desmond Conference Center in Malvern, PA one Friday  and two Saturdays a month.

Full-Time/Part-Time Status:

Students are required to complete the degree program through classes offered before 4:30 p.m.

Culminating Events:

Capstone Course Sequence:

Students are required to successfully complete the capstone course sequence. The purpose of the capstone sequence is to ensure that MBA candidates have mastered the skills necessary to conduct business analysis. The capstone sequence is graded in the normal manner by the instructor.

About the Program

The Fox School of Business and Management offers M.B.A. programs that help develop a solid understanding of business models created by the synergistic forces of globalization, entrepreneurship and information technology. Our approach to graduate education helps develop practical expertise through case analysis, presentations, interaction with business practitioners, and team projects. The Fox School prepares students to step immediately into key management roles in highly specialized fields. The Fox School is the region's second largest business graduate school with over 1300 students studying in 16 areas of concentration, including the region's second oldest Executive M.B.A. program.

Areas of Specialization:

The Executive M.B.A. program is designed to mirror a real work environment with students assigned to teams. EMBA students work extensively in these teams to prepare assignments and presentations. Support is given by the faculty on how to manage a successful team environment.

Interdisciplinary Study:

Students in the Executive M.B.A. program do not have an area of concentration. Instead, they receive the breadth and depth required to succeed as an executive.

Study Abroad:

A required international trip is arranged for the students of the EMBA program.

Non-Degree Student Policy:

The Executive M.B.A. program is a cohort program and courses may not be taken on a non-matriculated basis.
