Graduate School Heading

The Dean of the Graduate School oversees graduate education and research. The Graduate School oversees the quality of new and continuing graduate programs, the qualifications of members of the Graduate Faculty, and admission to graduate programs. The Graduate School administers policies set by the Graduate Board and the University and monitors standards of scholarship. The Graduate School and Graduate Board establish and maintain admission and degree requirements in consultation with the deans of the schools and colleges and their graduate councils or other governance bodies. The Dean of the Graduate School delegates to the deans of the schools and colleges the authority to admit students who meet university requirements and to recommend candidates for graduation. The Graduate School monitors admissions procedures, the maintenance of student records, advancement to candidacy, and recommends to the Board of Trustees the awarding of graduate degrees.
