Fall: April 15 Spring: November 15 Application Type: Rolling (process applications throughout the year). Most applications come in before the published fall and spring deadlines.
Letters of reference Number Required:2From whom: Letters of recommendation should be obtained from college/university faculty, art teachers or supervisors, curators or gallery directors familiar with academic and artistic competence.
Statement
of Goals:
The Statement of Goals should be approximately 500-1000 words and should include the following elements:
· your specific interest in Temple's program;
· your research goals;
· your future career goals; and
· your academic and research achievements
Standardized
Test Scores:
The GRE is required. 65-75% range on the verbal and analytical sectionsMinimum TOEFL score or range of scores needed to be accepted: 600 on the paper-based test or 250 on the computer-based test.
Resume:
A resume is required.
Writing Sample:
The writing sample should demonstrate your ability to research and to write a scholarly paper on any topic in Art History. The paper should be no more than 10 pages and fully referenced according to a professional, scholarly style manual.

Advanced Standing
Students who enter the PhD program may be considered for advanced standing based on the coursework completed in an Art History master's degree program.
The maximum number of advanced standing credits awarded is 30.
Test Waivers:
A student with a background in Art History and a master's degree in a related field will be considered.
