Admission Requirements and Deadlines

Physics, MA

Deadline
Fall: July 15

Spring: November 15

Application Type:
Rolling (applications are processed throughout the year with no deadline).

From whom:
Letters of recommendation should be obtained from college/university faculty members familiar with the applicant's academic capabilities.

Statement of Goals:
The statement of goals should be one to two pages in length and should include the following elements: (a) your specific interest in Temple's program; (b) your research goals; (c) your future career goals; and (d) your academic and research achievements.

Standardized Test Scores:
The GRE is required. Emphasis is placed on the quantitative and analytical sections.

The GRE Subject Exam is required. in Physics.

Minimum TOEFL score or range of scores needed to be accepted:
575 on the paper-based test or 230 on the computer-based test. Applicants who score below 600 on the paper-based test or 250 on the computer-based test will be required to take and pass a remedial English course during their first semester at Temple University.

Transfer Credit
Graduate credits from an accredited institution may be transferred into the program. The credits must be equivalent to coursework offered at Temple and the grade must be a "B" or better in order to transfer.
