Admission Requirements and Deadlines

Engineering, PHD

Deadline
Fall: July 1

Spring: November 15

Application Type:
Rolling (applications are processed throughout the year with no deadline).

Letters of reference
Number Required:3

From whom:
Letters of recommendation should be sought from College/University faculty members familiar with applicant's academic competence and research background.

Statement of Goals:
The statement of goals should be one to two pages long and should include the applicant's plans for the long term professional future. This should include research goals, future career goals, interest in Temple's program, and should highlight the applicant's past academic and research achievements. It is also important that the student write an outline of proposed area of research towards dissertation.

Standardized Test Scores:
Minimum TOEFL score or range of scores needed to be accepted:
600 on the paper-based test or 250 on the computer-based test.

Resume:
A resume is required.

Other:

  • Prospective students must submit samples of their journal articles, conference papers, or course project reports supporting their technical writing abilities and research background. A student can also submit a copy of his master's thesis.
