  • The department has openings for two new tenure track faculty positions in stable isotope geochemistry and geohazards. Read more about applying.
  • Sarah Hetznecker, BA 1983, was inducted into the Temple University League for Entrepreneurial Women’s Hall of Fame on Oct 28, 2008.  Heztnecker is director of project development, Conergy Americas, and founded a solar energy company with her husband, Gary Sheenan, also BA 1983.  The League for Entrepreneurial Women recognizes outstanding leadership and promotes entrepreneurship in the Philadelphia region.
  • Geology is now the DEPARTMENT OF EARTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE. The name change reflects the increasing diversity of the science performed in the Department but does not change the administrative or academic structure. The department continues to offer BS, BA and MS Geology degrees.  We also continue to advise students seeking the BS in Environmental Science.
