Governor Rendell appoints Marsha Weinraub as a member of the Pennsylvania Early Learning Council. The purpose of the Council is to plan for the expansion of effective early learning and development services for young children and their families, and make recommendations to ensure the plans are implemented successfully.

The Family and Children's Policy Collaborative (FCPC) at Temple University is an interdisciplinary collaboration between Dr. Marsha Weinraub of the Psychology Department and Dr. Anne Shlay of the Sociology Department and their respective research teams. Formed in 1996, the goal of the FCPC is to conceive, conduct, and produce sound research surrounding public policy issues relevant to children and their families that is useful to scholars, child advocates, service community professionals, and state and federal policy makers.
