Facilities Management offers free estimating. If a department is not ready to commit itself to a job it would like done, we will provide the department with a free cost estimate. To request an estimate, the department must submit a work request detailing the scope of work. On the work request indicate that the request is for "Estimate Only." The Work Control Center will forward a formal estimate for approval. The user has the option to approve or cancel the job upon receipt of the estimate. If for budgetary reasons the department would like to modify the scope of work, Facilities Management will consult with the department and try to assist in cost reduction. Due to the volume of work requests processed, we ask that the number of estimate requests be kept within reason and confined to jobs that are seriously being considered.
