Why Recycle at Temple University?

Temple University has a proud tradition of recycling in the City of Philadelphia. With your cooperation since 1989 nearly 18,000,000 pounds of recyclable materials have been diverted from the waste stream for recycling into new products for reuse – avoiding thousands of dollars in landfill disposal fees; helping to preserve non-renewable natural resources; conserve energy; and reducing pollution associated with extracting and processing virgin materials for manufacturing.
